WA MUSEUM BOOLA BARDIP
Terrazzo by Agglotech

Perth, Australia

In the heart of the Perth Cultural Center, the WA Museum Boola Bardip celebrates the many stories of Western Australia, from cultural roots to the most contemporary artistic expressions. Following an extensive refurbishment project that began in 2016, the museum was inaugurated in November 2020 with a new architectural concept, where history, innovation and design come together perfect harmony.
Agglotech contributed to the project with the supply of its own Venetian-style terrazzo in marble and Portland cement, developed in collaboration with the distributor European Ceramics. The material, chosen for floors and stairs, stands out for its ability to confer authenticity and aesthetic value to spaces, in line with the museum’s cultural vocation.

CUSTOM - REG 3066 - REG 3067

For the WA Museum Boola Bardip, Agglotech created two custom-made versions, the REG 3066 and REG 3067 colorations, designed to harmonize with the various exhibition and recreational areas of the structure. The first features dark marble flakes immersed in a reddish cement base, a combination that brings warmth and depth to spaces dedicated to artworks and relaxation areas. The second, on the other hand, stands out for its light gray tone, chosen for the central hall and main corridors, where natural light is amplified by the smooth and reflective surface of the terrazzo.
The overall effect is a refined and welcoming environment, where the materiality of Agglotech terrazzo engages in a dialogue with the monumentality of the architecture’s grandeur and the cultural function of the museum. The material’s high resistance, combined with ease of maintenance and durability over time, makes it the ideal solution for a public building with high foot traffic.
Through this project, Agglotech confirms its ability to translate the beauty of natural matter into a contemporary architectural language, offering the WA Museum Boola Bardip an elegant and timeless visual identity.
