INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
This guide provides a general summary of our experience and expertise. The recommendations and procedures described here must be adapted to the specific characteristics of your project. For any questions or concerns about terrazzo installation instructions, you can contact the Agglotech technical support team.
GENERAL WARNINGS
To ensure proper installation of Agglotech terrazzo, it is essential to install on adequately seasoned, dry, stable substrates free from impurities (dust, oils, grease, waxes, paints).
Substrates must comply with the requirements of applicable regulations in terms of thickness, mechanical resistance, and planarity.
Before installation, Agglotech products must be carefully inspected: measurements, thicknesses, finishes, and integrity must be compliant. Agglotech assumes no responsibility for defective materials installed without prior verification.

Terrazzo Floor Installation
For the installation of Agglotech Floors, a highly deformable adhesive in S2 class is recommended (Agglotech recommends Agglofix® Agglotech or equivalent).
It is recommended to install using the “buttering floating” technique (double spreading) to ensure proper adhesion of the product to the substrate.
In the case of difficult substrates or those subject to stress, the use of a decoupling membrane is strongly recommended to decouple the flooring from the substrate. Substrates are often subject to expansion, contraction, and settlement due to thermal, hygrometric, and structural variations. This separation allows tiles and substrate to move independently, preventing the transfer of stresses that cause cracking and detachment.
For all information relating to products used for installation, please refer to the technical data sheets of the manufacturers.

Permitted installation patterns for both square and rectangular tiles:
-
Straight installation
- Installation with offset joints of approximately 25%
Absolutely not recommended installation with offset joints of 50%
Terrazzo Stair Installation
For the installation of Agglotech stairs, a highly deformable adhesive in S2 class is recommended (Agglotech recommends Agglofix® Agglotech or equivalent). It is also essential to maintain a minimum joint of 1 cm from any points of stress (walls).
Considering the numerous variables and construction specificities related to stair installation, we recommend consulting our Technical Service to receive detailed and personalized guidance.

Terrazzo Grouting
For typical applications, the use of Mapei Ultracolor Plus or Kerakoll Fugabella is recommended. Agglotech recommends preparing a grout sample for color approval before proceeding with grouting the entire surface.
Some important warnings to obtain quality grouting:
- Before grouting, wait for the adhesive to be adequately seasoned, following the manufacturer’s recommendations
- Ensure that the Agglotech product has lost all residual moisture from the installation process
- Clean joints carefully from any excess adhesive or debris
- Ensure that joints are completely filled
- Remove excess grout immediately
- Do not allow grout to dry on the tile surface, as it will become extremely difficult to remove
- For typical applications, a joint width of 2 mm for interiors and 3 mm for exteriors is recommended
